Information For Inmates

Because we are an all-volunteer organization focused on cases of actual innocence, the Innocence Project of Iowa is highly selective in accepting cases. To request assistance from the Innocence Project of Iowa, an inmate must:

Carefully review our criteria* for case acceptance. Cases not meeting these criteria will not be considered.
Submit a completed questionnaire* if our criteria are met. The questionnaire must be completed by the individual requesting assistance and must be submitted by mail. Unfortunately, we are unable to process questionnaires submitted by friends or family members. Incomplete questionnaires cannot be considered. Completed questionnaires should be mailed to:
